La collection Galet : quand la nature rencontre l'art minimaliste

The Galet Collection: When Nature Meets Minimalist Art

Discover the Galet collection, a line of minimalist jewelry inspired by the raw beauty of the pebbles on the Normandy beaches where I grew up, and by the timeless art of Constantin Brâncuși. Balancing organic forms and refined design, this collection embodies the perfect harmony between nature and modernity.

A collection inspired by nature, design, and modern art

Brâncuși and the quest for essence

Before dedicating myself to jewelry, I worked in design and sculpture. These disciplines taught me to refine forms and seek the perfect balance between volume and lightness. That’s how I discovered the work of Constantin Brâncuși, a visionary sculptor whose quest for pure essence resonates deeply with me.

Brâncuși is known for smooth, minimalist shapes that reveal the very soul of his subjects. Sculptures like The Kiss or Bird in Space are both apparently simple and strikingly profound. This approach directly influences the way I design my pieces: each jewel in the Galet collection is conceived to capture the organic softness of pebbles and the absolute clarity of design.

Normandy: an authentic inspiration

Growing up in Normandy means accepting that wind is part of daily life, that the sky can turn from blue to gray faster than you can say “fog,” and that pebbles often replace sand under your feet. In this ever-changing yet fascinating landscape, I developed an eye for natural, imperfect forms.
The pebbles I collected as a child each had a story: polished by water, sculpted by time, and unique in their irregularities. It’s this balance between softness and strength that inspired the collection.

A three-step creative process

Every jewel in the Galet collection is the result of meticulous work that blends craftsmanship and innovation. My creative process unfolds in three essential stages:

1. Sketching: the first draft

Everything begins with a sketch. Armed with a pencil and a blank page, I let my imagination run free. I’m inspired by the natural shapes of pebbles—their harmonious asymmetry and their soft touch. My background in sculpture helps me visualize volume from the outset and anticipate the final result.

2. Prototyping: bringing ideas to life

Once the design is set, I create prototypes to test the shapes in volume. This phase lets me explore each curve from a new angle, adjust proportions, and ensure the piece will be as comfortable as it is beautiful.

3. 3D modeling: precision in the service of creation

Thanks to 3D modeling, I can refine every detail with pinpoint precision. This technology lets me view the piece from every angle and ensure manufacturing stays faithful to my original vision.

A jewel as a captured emotion

To me, a jewel is more than a shape. It’s an emotion, a frozen moment, a connection between art and the person who wears it. Like Brâncuși, I aim for the essential: remove the superfluous and keep only the purity of the design.
