Gold is increasing in value. So is our jewellery.

You may have noticed: for some time now, gold and silver have been seriously competing to see which can climb the highest. And behind the market charts, there is a very real consequence for us: these metals are the raw materials used to make our jewellery.

When gold and silver go up, so do our costs

Gold and silver are precious metals whose prices are constantly changing. And recently, they have risen significantly.

For a jewellery brand like Mayrena, these are not simply figures we watch from afar: they have a very real impact on the cost of making our jewellery.

Our gold jewellery is made with 5 micron gold plating, while our silver jewellery is made from solid silver. This means we use significant quantities of precious metals to create our collections.

And inevitably, when their prices rise, ours eventually have to follow.

5 microns of gold rather than 3. A small detail that makes a big difference.

Not all gold plated jewellery is created equal.

At Mayrena, we chose 5 micron gold plating, whereas standard gold plating is generally made with a 3 micron layer of gold.

Just two tiny microns of difference on paper.

But when it comes to a piece of jewellery, it means more gold is used for every piece. And when the price of gold rises, that difference has a very real impact on production costs.

Of course, faced with rising gold prices, we could have lowered our standards.

We could have gone from 5 microns to 3, for example.

Instead, we chose to do the opposite: change nothing about the jewellery.

We could have used less gold. We chose to adjust our prices instead.

Because those 5 microns are part of the quality standards we chose for Mayrena. They provide a more generous layer of gold and contribute to the durability of our jewellery over time.

And that is something we did not want to compromise on.

And what about silver?

Gold is not the only precious metal on the rise.

The price of silver has also increased dramatically in recent times. And at Mayrena, when we talk about silver jewellery, we mean solid silver.

Here again, the amount of material used directly affects the cost of a piece of jewellery.

A delicate ring and a bold cuff obviously do not contain the same amount of silver. The more substantial the piece, the greater the impact of changes in the price of the metal on its production cost.

This is also why our price increases will not be the same across the entire collection.

What is changing at Mayrena

From 28 September, the prices of some of our jewellery will change.

We have chosen not to apply the same percentage increase across the entire collection. Each price has been reassessed according to the piece, its weight, the amount of material required and its production cost.

Some prices will therefore change slightly, while others will increase more noticeably.

What will not change:
5 microns of gold for our gold plated jewellery.
Solid silver for our silver jewellery.
And always the same commitment to quality.

Why are we telling you?

Simply because we would rather explain things clearly.

Behind the price of a piece of jewellery, there is of course its design, its production and the craftsmanship required to bring it to life. But there is also the material itself.

And when the value of that material rises significantly, we have two options: change the product to preserve its price, or preserve the product and adjust its price.

We chose the latter.

Until 28 September 2026, the jewellery concerned will remain available at its current prices.

After that, it will still contain just as much gold and silver.

Just at a new price.
